What it is about

As part of the Healthy Child Programme, the health visiting team offers a universal health and development review when your child reaches toddlerhood.

What is involved

This review is a chance for health professionals to support your child's physical, emotional, and social development. It is delivered by the health visiting service (distinct from any progress checks your childcare setting might do).

Timeframes

The review takes place when your child is between 24 to 30 months old (2 to 2½ years).

You don't need to apply for this. It is scheduled by your local health visiting team. We set a milestone at your child's 2nd birthday so you know to watch out for their contact.

What you benefit from

You get a dedicated appointment with a health professional to review your child's progress, discuss any concerns, and get advice on health, sleep, and development.
